PostSubject: Inability to urinate.   Mon Jan 28, 2008 6:56 am

This condition can be a sign of bladderstones. If the cavy has a blocked urethra (outlet of the bladder) it can cause a distended bladder and severely kidney damage. My advise is to always check your cavy(s) behavior they are very good at hiding illnesses try to check the bedding for any bloody urine. Please if you've noticed that your cavy is not urinating take your cavy to a vet ASAP, if left untreated your cavy's kidney can be severely damaged.
