PostSubject: How You Can Keep Your Cavy Safe From Other Animals And More.   Mon Jan 14, 2008 5:03 am

-Never leave your cavy with another animal other than his breed.
-Never leave the cage open when there are other animals living in your home (dogs, cats) they may scratch your cavy or bite your cavy accidentically and you will not notice they are very good at hiding sicknes, injuries.
-If you have baby cavies do not purshase any cubes/grids with more than 1.5 inch wide of the little squares.
-Close any wholes or remove any electricity cables if you let your cavy out of the cage for a little "floor time"
-DO NOT house a rabbit together with a guinea pig, they have different dietary needs and behavior.
-DO NOT leave your guinea pig alone outdoors any animal can hurt him/her
-DO NOT use an open playpen outdoor
-If you have other animals you can always purchase or build a baby-proof wood door to place it in any room you will put your guinea pig.
